Bloomington
Charles J. Stillions, 75, of Bloomington, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Born September 28, 1939, in Monroe County, he was the son of Vernon S. and Beryl (Hanson) Stillions.
Charlie graduated from Bloomington High School in 1957. He married Sue Jean June 4, 1960, at New Unionville Baptist Church.
Charlie was a carpenter by trade and had belonged to Carpenters Local No. 60 since 1959, working in Indianapolis, Columbus and Bloomington. He was a longtime member of New Unionville Baptist Church, holding various offices and serving on many committees. Charlie loved restoring classic cars and belonged to Cruisin’ Classics.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sue (Jean) Stillions; one son, Charles Jeffrey Stillions; an aunt, Theo Stillions; cousins, Atlhera Ann Hope and Marjorie Chastain; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Polly Jean; and several extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Vernon (Beebe) Stillions, and aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington with Pastors Les Rovenstein, Frank Helton and Fred Stanger officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
