7 arrested on drug-related charges

Suspicious activity reported near a computer repair business led to a raid that resulted in the arrest of seven people, police said.

Four of those taken into custody during a search Thursday night of “Right Click PC Repair LLC” were arrested on drug-related charges, according to a release from the Columbus Police Department.

Business owner Jason I. Brown, 39, is facing five preliminary charges that include possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.

As of Friday morning, Brown — who listed his business address of 1603 Cottage Ave. as his residence on his booking report — was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $57,500 surety or $5,750 cash bond.

Others taken into custody on drug-related charges, as well as their surety bond amounts, are:

Adena E. Reeves, 30, no address available, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, bond $5,000.

Brittany E. Johnson, 28, 1025½ Cottage Ave., Columbus, possession of drug paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance, bond $5,000.

Stacy A. Southern, 51, 100 N. Hughes St., Columbus, possession of drug paraphernalia, bond $5,000

In response to earlier complaints, police first pulled over a vehicle Thursday evening that was seen leaving the computer repair business, which is in a suite of offices at the Cottage Avenue address, the release stated.

After a police canine alerted police to the odor of narcotics, officers discovered two female occupants in the vehicle had drug-related items. While both Southern and Reeves had drug paraphernalia, Reeves also was carrying methamphetamine, the release stated.

Once a search warrant was obtained, members of the Bartholomew County Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team led the 10:15 p.m. raid on the business, the release stated.

The raid, which also utilized city SWAT and uniformed officers, included a search that turned up methamphetamine, marijuana, scales, pipes, syringes, and other drug paraphernalia, the release stated.

Johnson and Brown were two of five people who were arrested inside Right Click PC Repair, which had recently moved from a next-door suite, the release stated.

Three individuals arrested within the business on misdemeanor charges of visiting a common nuisance were identified as:

Raymond L. Anderson, 31, 703 Central Ave., Columbus, bond $3,500.

Laura L. Hiles, 35, 2204 Pennsylvania Ave., Columbus, bond $3,500.

Ian M. Colson, 33, 703 Central Ave., Columbus, bond $3,500.
