Wilma Louise (Ash) Clarkson, 77, of North Vernon, passed from this life at 7:25 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2015, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service in North Vernon, with the Rev. Marvin Sweet officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Born May 18, 1937, in Morris, Illinois, Wilma was the fourth daughter of Howard E. and Helen E. (Beck) Ash. She moved at age 10 with her family to Jennings County, Indiana. She attended elementary school in Brewersville and graduated from North Vernon High School in 1955. She married Raymond E. Clarkson of Columbus on May 24, 1958. He preceded her in death November 7, 2001. They were parents of two sons, James Edward (Edna) Clarkson of Commiskey and Joseph Eugene (Rita) Clarkson of North Vernon.

Wilma retired from National City Bank after 23½ years of employment and worked at MainSource Bank for 3½ years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her two sons; one grandson, Blake Clarkson of North Vernon; one sister, Dorothy Marie (Clyde) May of North Vernon; two nephews, David A. (Teresa) Cline of Saginaw, Michigan, and Tim H. (Rita) Lowry of Commiskey; one niece, Susan E. Cline Kent of Indianapolis; three great-nieces; and seven great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Evelyn Cline and Vera Lowry.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Riley Hospital for Children, Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility or First United Methodist Church in North Vernon.
