Several hundred area high school students spent the evening listening to bands, dancing, playing games and enjoying snacks at the sixth annual Dance Marathon to benefit Turning Point Domestic Violence Shelter.

1990

Bartholomew County commissioners voted unanimously to make the new Bartholomew County Jail smoke-free when it opened.

1965

Nineveh starting forward Dannie Dale Mudd walked three miles through snowdrifts to catch a ride to play in the Columbus basketball sectional. The 5-foot-11 senior scored five points, but Nineveh lost to Shelbyville 64-46.
