BCSC kindergarten roundup dates set

Children who will be entering kindergarten this fall in Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. should register at their neighborhood school (or CSA location if they have been invited) on one of the following dates:

■ 6 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 9.

■ 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 10.

■ 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 11.

■ 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, March 12.

■ 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, March 13.

A parent or guardian must enroll the child. The student must be age 5 by Aug. 1, 2015 (born on or before Aug. 1, 2010) for this fall’s enrollment.

Students accepted to Ashland University

Lane Sawyer, North Vernon, a senior at Jennings County High School, has been accepted to Ashland University for the fall.

Sawyer will receive the President’s Scholarship for $11,000 annually to attend Ashland.

The university is a mid-size private university with campuses near Akron, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio.

Human science extension plans sewing camp

Bartholomew County Extension Health and Human Science Educator Harriet Armstrong will have a sewing camp for youth in Grades 3 through 6 on March 24 through 26.

The camp will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Columbus East High School. Cost of the camp is $5 plus the purchase of fabric, pins and thread to make a bag.
