Charlene Baute, 67, of Seymour, passed from this life at 11:22 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Baute was a homemaker and a member of Columbus Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and manicuring her lawn and landscape.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Chuck Kennedy officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charities.

Born March 27, 1947, in Bartholomew County, Mrs. Baute was the daughter of Bruce C. and Nola E. George Richards. She married Dennis L. Baute September 21, 1968.
Mrs. Baute is survived by her husband of 46 years; sons, Corey (Lynette) Baute of Avon and Brad Baute of Louisville; grandchildren, Hannah, Mitchell, and Meara Baute; sisters, Carol (Larry) McCord and Connie (Don) Munn of Columbus; a brother, Calvin (Marilyn) Richards of Columbus; her mother-in-law, Dorothy E. Baute of Seymour; a sister-in-law, Kay Richards of Columbus; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Mrs. Baute was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark L. Baute; and a brother, Charles Richards.
