The I CAN 5K and Autism Walk is April 4 at Richards Elementary School, 3311 Fairlawn Drive in Columbus. Proceeds benefit the Columbus Autism Network and The Arc of Bartholomew County.
A competitive 5K race/walk starts at 9 a.m. and will follow a predetermined route as part of the Crossroads of Indiana 5K series in Columbus. Registration the day of the race begins at 8. A free, recreational walk will take place at 10:30 on school grounds for children and families not participating in the race. Sensory friendly activities for children with autism will be offered.
People can form teams and collect donations. Donations can be brought the day of the event or made online at firstgiving.com/39620/columbus-autism-network-autism-walk.
Cost is $20 (including a T-shirt) for people who register by March 19; cost is $25 afterward. People participating in the walk can receive a T-shirt with a donation. To register online: signmeup.com/106328.
