Oscar Olmeda Marketplace 03-08-15

Columbus Police Department has promoted Oscar Olmeda to patrol sergeant on the second shift. Olmeda joined the department in December 2005 after working three years with Decatur County Sheriff’s Department. A veteran of the Marine Corps, he served four years as a hydraulics and structural mechanic.

He completed SWAT training in 2007, has completed the advanced observer sniper course and was named a field training officer in 2011. Since joining CPD, he has worked as a detective and a firearms instructor.
