William Henry Rose Sr., age 91, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Maudie DeBord Rose; his wife, Elsie Hall Rose, to whom he was married in 1944 in Camp Pendleton, Virginia; three daughters, Betty Ward, Linda Kautzman and Mary Jones; a son, Donald Rose; a sister, Helen White; and two brothers, Malcolm Rose and Gerald Rose.
He is survived by two sons, William H. Rose Jr. of Columbus, Indiana, and Robert Rose of Seymour, Indiana; brothers, Tommy Rose of Blountville, Tennessee, and Everett Rose of Saltville, Virginia; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, at D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville with Rev. Brian Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the funeral service.
