Conly Sutcliffe Bouggy, 86, of Northwood Drive, died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Mr. Bouggy was a 1947 graduate of Redford High School in Detroit, earned a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1951 from the University of Michigan, and in 1955 earned an MBA at the University of Michigan. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.

Mr. Bouggy was a 1952 graduate of the U.S. Navy Officers Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, and he served as a Gunnery Officer on the Destroyer USS Moale during the Korean War.

Mr. Bouggy was employed in management with Reliance Electric, retiring after 39 years of service.

He was a past president of Bartholomew County Plan Commission and Bartholomew County Red Cross. He was a member of Kiwanis International and was a member of the board of directors of the United Way. He was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry and served several terms as Senior Warden.

The funeral service will be conducted at noon Saturday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Marc Vance officiating.

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, November 26, 1928, Mr. Bouggy was the son of Floyd C. and Mary Lou Petty Bouggy. He married Joan Broomfield March 26, 1953.

Mr. Bouggy is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years; children, Robert Bouggy of West Lafayette, Cynthia (Andy) Taff of Rushville, and Catherine Bouggy of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren, Brian (Susan) Bouggy, Lauren Bouggy, Katherine Bouggy, Matthew Bouggy, Natalie Taff, and Drew Taff; and a great-granddaughter, Claire Bouggy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Cynthia L. Bouggy.
