Republican Ladies planning voter forum

The Bartholomew Republican Ladies League is sponsoring a forum for voters to get to know candidates in the spring city primary.

The event will be 6 to 8:30 p.m. March 31 at Donner Center, 739 22nd St., and is open to the public.

The two candidates seeking the GOP nomination for mayor, incumbent Kristen Brown and challenger Jim Lienhoop, have told the League they plan to attend, said Tami Hines, the organization’s president.

So far, all but two of the Republican candidates for city council have confirmed they will attend, she said.

League members will ask questions of the GOP candidates after introductions, Hines said, adding that the presentation will not be a debate format.

Candidates will not take questions directly from the audience during the forum, but they will have a chance to meet the candidates and ask questions on their own, she said.
