Columbus women remain in critical condition

Two women who suffered severe head injuries in a motorcycle accident early this week were in critical condition as of late Thursday afternoon.

Jessica N. Fort, 23, of Columbus, and Stacey C. Myers, 27, of Indianapolis, were flown by Lifeline helicopter to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Both women were on a Triumph Daytona 675 that collided with a van that pulled out in their path at the intersection of 25th Street and Cameron Lane on the city’s far east side.

Columbus police said the women were not wearing helmets. The van driver was not hurt.

Indiana State Police and Columbus police are continuing an investigation into the accident.
