A one-car crash in North Vernon left a broken utility pole and drooping power lines hanging about 6 feet above the ground, closing State Road 7 for more than four hours.

1990

Bowlers Bryan Root and Scott Gates of Miller Lanes placed second in the state at the Holiday Doubles Junior Tournament, finishing with a 1,302 total.

1965

A basketball game between Indiana University and a local “all-star” team was played at Memorial Gym, raising $600 for the Bartholomew County Children’s Home building fund.
