2005

A masked robber tied up the clerk at 7th Street Cigar Co. and escaped with the store’s cash register.

1990

About 25 workers were evacuated from Heekin Can Inc. at Woodside Business Center after an accidental chemical reaction blew up a 55-gallon drum and created a potentially dangerous vapor. Four workers who were exposed to the fumes were treated and released at Bartholomew County Hospital.

1965

Bartholomew County Cancer Society announced the establishment of a fund to help defray hospital costs of cancer patients who needed financial aid but didn’t qualify for assistance from government sources.
