I read the “Big Box, Big Problem” article in Saturday’s paper regarding Senate Bill 436.
The part that really caught my eye was a comment made by state Sen. Greg Walker where he said, “We need to take more time and think more about it. The bill as stated is not an optimal bill.”
It’s too bad he didn’t follow this same process for the Religious Freedom and Restoration Act legislation (Senate Bill 101), which he co-authored. Had he been as thorough with that legislation instead of pushing it through as quickly as possible, he might have realized that it was “not an optimal bill” and in the process saved the state of Indiana a lot of embarrassment and financial damage.
