Mary Jane Gray, 95, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at her home. Born October 8, 1919, in Harlan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of William and Flora Nolan.

In October 1940, in London, Kentucky, Mary married Tom Gray, and together they raised 11 children. She retired from Medora Plastics and was a founding charter member of Faith Southern Baptist Church. Mary will be remembered by her family as a gardener, a quilter, and a provider.

She leaves behind her 11 children, Bill (Margie) Nolan, Verlon Denver (Wanda) Gray, Raymond (Rita) Gray, Ronnie (Sheila) Gray, Melvin (Donna) Gray, Elvin (Connie) Gray, Carl (Beverly) Gray, Tommy Jo (Wanda) Gray, Ollie M. Knott, Nadine (Estill) Bowman and Alene (Norman) Davis. Mary leaves a legacy to her 196 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, with three more on the way.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Evelyn; brothers, Elvin, Sherman, Orville, Tony, Joe and Garfield; a sister, Nora; a grandson, Stevie; a great-grandson, Landon and two sons-in-law, Gordon “Pete” Knott and Don Reynolds.

Funeral services for Mary will be held Saturday, April 18, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Southern Baptist Church, 8856 N. State Road 135, Vallonia. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow services at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem.
