Wal-Mart Stores Inc. announced plans to build a second supercenter just off Jonathan Moore Pike west of Columbus at a cost of $10 million.

Columbus tied with Mason City, Iowa, and Salina, Kansas, as the 27th-best small city to live in nationwide and ranked highest among the six Indiana cities included in “The Rating Guide to Life in America’s Small Cities.”
