2005

Columbus business owner Bob Haddad, owner of Columbus Container Inc. and a member of Harrison Lake County Club, stepped forward to pay off the club’s bank debts and acquire the property. The proposed sale would ensure the golf course, dining and other facilities would remain open and was expected to be approved by the club board.

1990

The first area recycling center, operated by the Solid Waste Disposal, opened on Saturdays for Columbus and Bartholomew County at Columbus City Garage.

1965

More than 1,500 rainbow trout from 8 to 11 inches long and 500 brook trout from 9 to 13 inches long were poured into the Flat Rock River north of Columbus in the fifth annual stocking program conducted by the Indiana Conservation Department.
