Volunteers, organized by Kathy Fruhner of Columbus, began making “Quilts of Valor” for troops wounded or traumatized while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

1990

Three Southside Elementary School students collected nearly 500 signatures on a petition to save a large sycamore tree slated to be cut down to make way for an extension of Taylor Road north of Rocky Ford Road.

Camp Atterbury appeared to be out of contention as a site for a proposed multimillion-dollar federal atomic facility.
