Nearly 20 organizations donated funds and supplies so volunteers could paint county-owned fair buildings, which hadn’t been painted in three years.

“Flex appeal” returned to Columbus when the Mr. and Ms. Indiana bodybuilding contest was staged at Southside Elementary School auditorium for the second straight year.

Columbus Mayor Eret Kline outlined his views on the city’s needs at a city council meeting, leading with a proposal for a fourth fire station because of the possibility of the city losing its favorable fire insurance rating if firefighting services didn’t keep pace with the growth of the city.
