Heritage Fund of Bartholomew County received an $800,000 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to support teacher growth and worker education.

1990

Landscape architect Michael Van Valkenburgh spent several hours listening to Columbus and area children make recommendations on what kind of playground he should design for new and improved Mill Race Park.

1965

Aided by a trooper in a rented airplane, state police captured two Indianapolis men after a four-hour manhunt through fields near Taylorsville and charged both with breaking into Cushman Motor Sales in Columbus and with theft of a local man’s car.
