Class uses Legos to build youngsters faith

How do you reach youngsters ages 3 and older with spiritual messages on their level?

At Columbus’ First United Methodist Church, leaders use Legos.

It’s all part of the Christian Connections summer classes called “Faith Builders: Building Faith One Block at a Time” in Room 313 each Sunday through July at the church, 618 Eighth St.

The class includes memory verses, building projects and other activities.

National Faith Builders founder David A. Henderson said he felt God led him to facilitate a small group for elementary-age children. And he noticed that his curriculum caught their attention.

“The kids loved the building projects and were inviting their friends,” Henderson said. “They were also learning and retaining the biblical lessons presented each week.”
