Penny S. Grube, 49, of 23rd Street, passed away, with her family and friends by her side, at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital in Greenwood.

Penny was born August 7, 1965, in Columbus, the daughter of Glenn R. and Patricia A. Hauersperger Grube.

She was a 1983 graduate of Columbus East High School, was employed as a merchandiser for Mondelez (Nabisco), and attended St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.

She enjoyed NASCAR, Minnesota Vikings and Notre Dame football. She was currently training for the Mill Race 5K.

Penny enjoyed watching her great-nieces’ competitive dance competitions, going to the beach and spending time with her good friends and family.

The funeral will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Garvey officiating. Calling will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.

Survivors include her son, Tyler Grube of Columbus; a brother, Scott (Rita) Grube of Columbus; a sister, Sharon (Larry) Fisher of Columbus; nephews, Josh (Beth) Grube, Heath (Amy) Fisher and Micah Fisher; nieces, Tracy (Doug) Hoffman, Christina Lindsay, and Shelbey Grube; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kevin Grube; and a nephew, Andrew Parker.
