2005

Jim Griffin was appointed veterans services officer for Bartholomew County.

1990

More than 230 people attended a special meeting of Columbus Plan Commission, concerned about the proposed plan to incorporate 13 residential areas into the city limits. After the meeting, commission members voted to annex 12 areas but omitted one.

1965

Bartholomew Consolidated School Board members visited two possible sites for a third junior high school, one at Clifty Creek Park at the east end of Indiana Avenue and the other at U.S. 31A north of the 4-H Fairgrounds. The sites were already owned by the county and could be ceded to the school corporation without cost.
