2005

Architects reassured county officials the current jail staff or one close to it in size could easily operate an expanded Bartholomew County Jail, but Sheriff Kenny Whipker stood by his belief the expansion would require at least 15 more workers.

1990

The first three personalized bricks sold to individuals and businesses and inscribed with the buyers’ names were laid into the brick sidewalks being built as part of the downtown rejuvenation “Streetscape.”

1965

Twenty-three Columbus men representing Columbus Chamber of Commerce visited the U.S. Manned Space Center near Houston, not to be confused with “other one” at Cape Kennedy, Florida, from which orbital rocket shots were fired.
