• Janet Weidman for displaying such courage, grace and fighting spirit through difficult times; you are an inspiration, from a friend.

• Dr. Helen Kinsey, her nurse Kathy and all the staff at the Columbus Regional Health’s Wound Center for their expert and compassionate care during a difficult health situation, from a very satisfied and healed patient and his wife.

• Skooters Family Restaurant for letting me put a jar for donations on their counter to help recover from the flood in our house, from the Jaggers family.

• whoever left the fresh vegetables at my front door yesterday and I was so thankful to get them, from Linda Mitchell.

• Brenda Humbel for being the best mobile home park manager and solving the problem with residents, from Kathy Fetter.

• Randy at Piercefield Radiator & Air Conditioning Service for diagnosing the problem with my Corvair and getting it fixed, from Bob and Anita.

• Duke Energy for backing my car out of the garage before turning off the power, from Barbara.

• the people of Columbus who have forgotten pride goeth before destruction and an haughty spirit before a fall.

• the woman on the northeast side of Columbus who uses her car horn as a doorbell, disturbing the whole neighborhood.

• parents who let their kids play on riding mowers on the roads, endangering their lives and the safety of cars trying to drive or get past them.

• the health care facility for the lack of parking for visitors.

• the woman at the store who had the money for a large, expensive purse and matching wallet but paid for baby formula with assistance vouchers.

• the gas companies for raising gas prices by 60 to 80 cents per gallon in the past two days in Columbus when the price of crude oil is at a six-year low.

• people who left trash along Fourth Street after an event.

• gas companies that can raise the price of gas by 85 cents in a heartbeat but take weeks or months to lower the price by a penny.

• people who fly drones.

• family members who owe you money but then file bankruptcy and move out of town.

• the person who drives a gray or silver SUV who always parks in the employee of the month parking spot when it is not your permanent spot.

• the son for excluding his mother and not allowing her to see her only grandchild when she did nothing wrong.

• the old man who refuses to mow his grass which makes all the other yards look terrible in the addition.

• people who don’t tip their servers when servers make only $2.13 per hour, and for blaming them for kitchen mistakes.

• people who are driving too fast and not paying attention on Interstate 65.

• whoever is responsible for omitting my Edinburgh newspaper every Thursday from my Republic delivery.

• teachers who are bad coaches and only coach for the money.
