Columbus Youth Flag Football sets dates

Registration and camp for Columbus Youth Flag Football will be today, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Columbus East High School practice field for boys and girls in prekindergarten through eighth grade. Games will be Sundays on the East game field.

Ceraland hosting fall leagues in four sports

Ceraland has set dates for fall baseball, fastpitch softball, indoor basketball and indoor soccer leagues.

Monday is the deadline to register for the 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and high school fall baseball leagues. Teams will play six to eight games beginning Saturday, followed by a single-elimination tournament. Cost is $425 for 8U, 10U and 12U and $475 for 14U and high school.

Sept. 15 is the deadline to register for the Tuesday Corporate and Wednesday Open basketball leagues. Cost is $425 for the corporate league and $325 for the open league and include the sports center entry fees.

Oct. 5 is the deadline to register for the fall indoor soccer league.

Teams will play eight games Monday evenings or Saturdays. Players must be at least 14 by the first scheduled game. Cost is $300 and includes the sports center entry fee.

Bowling league to host Fun Day Tournament

The Senior Men’s League is hosting a special Fun Day Tournament to introduce new bowlers to the league at 1 p.m. Thursday at Columbus Bowling Center for men 50 and older.

Participants will bowl two “special” games. A snack and novelty items will be offered.

Travel baseball team to conduct tryouts

The Columbus Crush competitive travel baseball team will conduct tryouts for its 7U through 16U teams from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Wayne Park.

Over-40 softball league registration underway

The Columbus Softball Association has spots available for its Fall Over-40 Softball League.

Games will be played on Thursday nights.

Women’s roller derby offers youth skills camp

The Columbus women’s roller derby team, Terrorz of Tiny Towns, will conduct a youth skills camp for ages 7 to 17 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 26 at Skateland.

Cost is $25. Skaters are required to have personal health insurance and have all protective gear, including a helmet, mouth guard, wrist guards and elbow and knee pads, and a parent or guardian must fill out all required forms. Skates can be rented at Skateland for a small fee.

Columbus Flag Football registration planned

Columbus Flag Football commissioner Larry Anthony will be at Smith’s Row taking registration from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 28.

Entry fees are $550 for the men’s league and $350 for the women’s league. Play will begin Sept. 13.

Public can use YMCA for $1 Sundays this month

The Decatur Family YMCA in Greensburg is offering Super Sundays in August.

Youth football players to be recognized at North

Columbus North’s Youth/Middle School Football Night will be Sept. 4.

Players will be greeted at the team gate and will be welcome on the field before the game against Bloomington North. They also will be recognized at halftime.

Junior golf tour event coming to Bloomington

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will host a tournament Sept. 5 and 6 at the Indiana University Golf Course in Bloomington.

The tournament is open to golfers ages 11 to 18 and will be Junior Golf Scoreboard ranked events. HJGT members can play for $189, while nonmembers can play for $234.
