The Indiana Department of Transportation has scheduled a closure of State Road 3 at Wyaloosing Creek starting Monday for minor bridge repairs and installation of a deck overlay.
The closure will last seven to 10 days, INDOT said in a news release.
The bridge is seven miles north of State Road 7, about a mile south of the Jennings-Decatur County line. A state highway detour routes motorists around the closure via State Roads 46 and 7.
RAM Construction, the state’s contractor, will place a 3/8-inch polymeric bridge deck overlay on the concrete arch bridge over Wyaloosing Creek. Polymeric epoxy will be placed in two lifts to seal the deck and extend the service life of the bridge. Flint chips will be mixed with the epoxy to achieve long-last surface friction for better maneuverability and stopping capabilities.
