Over-40 softball league registration underway

The Columbus Softball Association has spots available for its Fall Over-40 Softball League. Games will be played on Thursday nights.

Columbus Flag Football registration planned

Columbus Flag Football commissioner Larry Anthony will be at Smith’s Row taking registration from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Entry fees are $550 for the men’s league and $350 for the women’s league.

League games will begin Sept. 13.

Saturday Morning Sports Injury Clinic available

Southern Indiana Orthopedics will offer its Saturday Morning Sports Injury Clinic again this year beginning Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Kids can sign up for Junior Bowling League

Junior Bowling League signups at Columbus Bowling Center will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Children from ages 4 to 20 are welcome. Leagues will be divided into three age groups.

Youth football players to be recognized at North

Columbus North’s Youth/Middle School Football Night will be Sept. 4.

Players will be greeted at the team gate and will be welcome on the field before the game against Bloomington North. They also will be recognized at halftime.

Public can use YMCA for $1 Sundays this month

The Decatur Family YMCA in Greensburg is offering Super Sundays in August.

The public can use the YMCA from 1 to 5 p.m. for $1. For more information, call 812-663-YMCA.

Women’s roller derby offers youth skills camp

The Columbus women’s roller derby team, Terrorz of Tiny Towns, will conduct a youth skills camp for ages 7 to 17 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at Skateland.

Cost is $25. Skaters are required to have personal health insurance and have all protective gear, including a helmet, mouth guard, wrist guards and elbow and knee pads, and a parent or guardian must fill out all required forms. Skates can be rented at Skateland for a small fee.

Junior golf tour event coming to Bloomington

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will host a tournament Sept. 5 and 6 at the Indiana University Golf Course in Bloomington.

The tournament is open to golfers ages 11 to 18 and will be Junior Golf Scoreboard ranked events. HJGT members can play for $189, while nonmembers can play for $234.

Trailblazers, Girls on the Run set for fall season

Registration is open for Girls on the Run and Trailblazers’ fall season.

Youth will receive a running journal, water bottle, T-shirt, entry to a 5K race and a race medal. Cost is $40 if registered by Sept. 8. Practices begin the week of Sept. 8 and end with a 5K on Oct. 31.
