Robert Dale Foist, 87, of Columbus, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Before retirement, he was a farmer and a bus driver for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. He was a member of Burnsville Christian Church, the Elks, and Moose Lodge.

He was owner of B-Ville Toys. He enjoyed gardening, canning and woodworking.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Dan Shaw officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to service time Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Burnsville Christian Church through the funeral home.

Born January 5, 1928, Bob was the son of Leonard D. and Oletha M. French Foist. He married Thelma Esther Bowers August 7, 1949, at Burnsville Christian Church, and she survives.

Other survivors include children, Robert L. (Susan) Foist of Columbus, Elizabeth A. (Greg) Barriger of Columbus, and Thomas D. Foist of Youngstown, Ohio; grandchildren, Thomas M. (Mindy) Barriger of Shelbyville, Gregory T. (Kellie) Barriger of Hayden, Karielle A. Foist of Atlanta, Georgia, and Kelsea D. Foist of Chicago, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Aric W. Barriger of Mosinee, Wisconsin, and JoAnn E. Barriger of Hayden; and a brother, Carroll (Marilyn) Foist of Columbus.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Martha L. Howe.
