Agnes Louise Mires Benefiel Barnes, 85, of Midway Street, died at 7:55 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Kindred Health and Rehabilitation.
Agnes was born May 18, 1930, in Westport, the daughter of Roy M. and Freda Daisy (Bishop) Mires.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2015, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Pastor Michael Gordon officiating. Calling will be from noon until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rodney Cemetery in Decatur County.
Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International through the funeral home.
Survivors include her sons, Daniel James Barnes of Brown County and Gary Lynn Benefiel of Indianapolis; daughters, Trina Dee (Paul) Burton of Milroy and Terre Combs of Georgia; sisters, Sharon Porter of North Vernon and Dorothy Hoover of Greenwood; and grandchildren, Amy, Fred, Beth, Heather, Lisa, Jeremy, Jimmy, Christina, Jonas, Pam and Jodie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jamie Dorn Benefiel; brothers, Roy Mires Jr., Paul Mires, Arnold Mires, Donald Mires, Marlin Mires, and Allen Mires; and a sister, Reba.
