Steven O’Neal, Columbus East senior football player

O’Neal ran for 193 yards and two touchdowns Friday to lead the Olympians to a 28-21 win against Columbus North.

FEMALE

Rachel Brougher, Columbus North junior cross-country runner

Brougher won the Conference Indiana girls race in 18 minutes, 42.7 seconds for 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) to lead the Bull Dogs to the team title.

Her performance last week:

“I was really happy with it. It’s always exciting to run on LaVern (Gibson Championship Cross Country Course), and out team did really well, and that’s a great thing.”

Do you do anything special to prepare?

“I think about what I want to do, and I try to relax and do my best.”
