Step into past while cooking over coals

Maybe you have always longed for a taste of the past.

With help from the Haw Creek Heritage Center in Hope, you can have just that.

A class, “Finery From the Fire: Gourmet Cooking Over Coals With the Bartholomew County Historical Society,” will be presented from 2 to 6 p.m. Sept. 13 at the center, 111 Aiken St.

Participants will prepare and eat a full meal using traditional hearth cooking techniques and historic recipes.

All supplies are included. Participants must wear closed-toed and heeled shoes. Long pants are recommended.

Cost is $25 per student, or $20 for historical society members. Registration is required. Participants must be at least 18 years of age.
