Letter: Planned Parenthood videos expose barbaric attitudes

I am amazed and disturbed by those who try and defend the recently exposed actions of Planned Parenthood.

In multiple videos, Planned Parenthood personnel enthusiastically discuss dissecting aborted babies while eating their lunch, sometimes laughing between sips of wine. How can a civilized human being do such a thing? Babies are a gift from God, and they deserve our love, respect and protection. How can anyone have such a cold and callous disregard for one of God’s creations?

I don’t know which is worse, the actual dismemberment of aborted babies or the laughter when they discuss the best methods of performing an abortion to maximize the market value of tiny body parts? The methods described are barbaric. It makes one physically ill to think about it.

Yet, the defenders of Planned Parenthood continue to praise all the good they provide, the old “greater good” defense. They quickly condemn the producers of the videos, the Center for Medical Progress, for the means they used to expose the evils of Planned Parenthood. They want everyone to think that condemning the video producers is the most important part of the story. Is that the best argument they have in defense of Planned Parenthood considering the revolting activities shown in the videos? Those trying to defend Planned Parenthood are trying to deflect attention from the gruesome details of what goes on at Planned Parenthood’s abortion clinics.

Condemning the Center for Medical Progress for the way they obtained videos exposing the horrific practices of Planned Parenthood is like condemning the brave souls at Auschwitz for smuggling out photos of the Holocaust. Do we really care how the videos were obtained when considering the outrageous content of the videos? How can anyone with a conscience possibly be more concerned about the method of obtaining the videos as compared to what is in the videos?

What the Center for Medical Progress is doing is exposing the horrors of America’s Holocaust, the death of millions of innocent babies. There can be no “greater good” and no defense for what is taking place at Planned Parenthood abortion clinics.

God has been very kind to America. How can we continue to ask for his blessings if we, as a nation, continue to fund such despicable actions that are shown in the videos? It is time for Congress to defund Planned Parenthood now.
