1) Ganesh, the elephant-headed Hindu god, has always struck me as one of the happiest gods ever. I’m sure the party thrown in his honor, Omkar 2015, the 11th annual Columbus Ganesh Festival, will be a great time. Feature entertainment, sculptural presentations and more, the festival continues 6 to 8:30 p.m. today; 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday; and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, at The Commons, 300 Washington St. The final two hours Sunday is a procession to Mill Race Park from The Commons. 2) With fun and educational presentations and activities, Steps Through Time History Days, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bartholomew County Public Library, offers an opportunity to see Bartholomew County history not usually available to the public. The event is sponsored by Historic Columbus and the library. Information: 812-379-1266.
