Robert “Bob” D. Walker, 79, of McCullough Lane, passed from this life at 1:42 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Bob was the oldest car dealership owner in Columbus. He was the owner of Columbus Lincoln Mercury for eight years and most recently the owner of Walker Auto.
He was a member of the Columbus Moose Lodge and East Columbus Christian Church.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes cremation is planned and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society.

Born in Columbus, October 5, 1935, Mr. Walker was the son of Jesse A. and Eva Donica Walker.
He married Lois J. Burchfield, December 13, 1952.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lois J. Walker; children, Mike (Anita) Walker, Ric Walker, Judy (Bryan) Bennett and Kim (Jimmy) Green all of Columbus; a brother, Jim Walker of Columbus; grandchildren, Brad (Abbey) Bennett, Dawn (Matt) Graham, Tanner Bennett, Nick (Bre) Green and Tyler (Laci) Green all of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Brayson, Blainey and Braelyn Bennett and Caden, Averie, Reece and Rylee Graham and Addison Green; and a sister-in-law, Betty Walker of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Eugene Walker.
