Superior Court I Judge Chris Monroe received the 2005 Excellence in Public Information and Education Award from the Indiana Judges Association.

1990

City officials submitted a challenge to preliminary counts by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, saying census workers missed at least 200 housing units and more than 300 people in group quarters in their initial Columbus canvassing.

1965

Eighty-seven building permits on construction having an estimated value of $629,425 were issued by the city building inspector’s office in August in Columbus and its zoning area. Twenty-six of those were for new homes costing $421,300 to build.
