Georgia driver wins Jackson 100

Continuing the greatest driving season in dirt late model racing history, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Georgia, won the 36th annual Jackson 100 on Sept. 19 at Brownstown Speedway.

Davenport, who started 14th in the $20,000-to-win event, took the lead on the 49th lap and went on for his first win at the track.

This year’s Jackson 100 weekend was a huge success with a packed grandstand on Sept. 19. A total of 215 race cars competed in the two-day extravaganza.

There will be preliminary action on Thursday and Friday with a $7,000 to win purse up for grabs each night. Tonight will be the 100-lap finale paying $40,000 to win.
