There are many hard-working teachers at Jennings County High School who inspire and push their students to do their personal best. Two are Valerie Gard and Betsy Schwering.
They are passionate about their jobs and the students they teach.
Gard is an experienced teacher. She has taught 29 years in a career that has taken her to New Jersey, Virginia, North Carolina and Indiana.
“I enjoy interacting with my students the most,” Gard said.
Gard teaches sports medicine and physical education classes.
Schwering is the Jennings County High School library media specialist. She also teaches library media classes and keeps the library in order.
She has been working at the high school for nine years. Before that, she worked at Franklin Central High School for two years.
Like Gard, Schwering said she enjoys interacting with students.
Schwering also said that she enjoys connecting students with interesting books to read.
