Columbus North High School’s The Sound of North won several overall awards including the sweepstakes award during the Highlander Invitational at Floyd Central High School on Saturday.
In addition, the band earned honors for overall best marching, overall best general effect, overall best music, first place in Class 5A, best field commander, best auxiliary and best percussion.
Sound of North next will compete in the Ben Davis Invitational at 3 p.m. Saturday at Ben Davis High School, 1200 N. Girls School Road, Indianapolis.
Columbus North performs at 9:22 p.m. Columbus East will compete at Ben Davis as well, performing at 8:04 p.m.
