Development center offering ESL course

IUPUC’s Center for Business and Economic Development is offering area adults who are non-native English speakers an opportunity to increase proficiency.

English as a Second Language classes will meet at IUPUC for eight sessions, beginning Oct. 14.

The non-credit series will help participants improve conversational English comprehension and fluency. The course is appropriate for ESL speakers with limited working proficiency in English.

Classes meet once a week from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Wednesdays, except for the week of Thanksgiving. Instructor is Devin Blankenship, who will use “Compelling Conversations,” as the textbook to supplement instruction.

Cost is $270 for the certificate program, which includes the textbook. For more information, go to iupuc.edu/cbed, email [email protected] or call 812-348-7302.
