Roger Lee Martin, 72, of Columbus, Indiana, died at 10:43 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mr. Martin was born April 4, 1943, in Seymour, Indiana, the son of the late Russell Lee and Esther Wineinger Martin.

He married Kristine L. Tingley April 26, 2002, in Nashville, Indiana, and she survives.

Roger was a United States Air Force veteran. He retired from AT&T where he was a technician.

He was a member of Surprise Christian Church (Camp Illiana), Edinburgh American Legion Post No. 233, National Rifle Association, and National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, and was a lifelong member of the Bell Conservation Club in Nineveh, Indiana.

Roger enjoyed traditional folk and Celtic music, camping and woodworking among many other talents, hobbies and interests.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Myers-Reed Chapel, 3729 25th St., Columbus, IN 47203, with Larry Whitlock presiding.

Military rites will be presented by members of Edinburgh American Legion Post No. 233 Color Guard.

Calling hours will be from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday.

Along with his wife, Kris, Roger is also survived by a son, Jerry Lee Martin of Franklin, Indiana; a daughter, Amy LeAnn Temple of Seymour, Indiana; a stepdaughter, Laura Ruehman Bachrach of Columbus, Indiana; a sister, Linda (Jim) Kamman of Seymour, Indiana; and two stepgrandsons, Shawn and Nick Burge, both of Columbus, Indiana.

Along with his parents, Mr. Martin was also preceded in death by a brother, Steve Martin.
