Alice Curry and David Bowden, executive director and conductor of Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, were named winners of the annual Patriot Awards by a local veterans group in recognition of their work and efforts in creating and sustaining “SALUTE!” concerts honoring veterans.

Bartholomew County Emergency Management and Bartholomew-Brown County American Red Cross gave a program titled “Be Quake Awake” in Columbus in an effort to educate locals about the dangers of and best response to earthquakes.
