Carl Ford, 87, of Riverton, Wyoming, formerly of Columbus, passed from this life Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at his home.

Carl retired from Arvin Industries and was of the Baptist Faith.

He was a World War II veteran of both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Jerry K. Day Sr. officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to time of service Tuesday.

Burial will be Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh with military honors presented by Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

Born in Franklin, November 11, 1927, Mr. Ford was the son of Charles and Cloe Alander Ford.

He married Elsie L. Reed March 24, 1949. She preceded him in death September 22, 2014.

Survivors include his children, Albert (Jeanne) Ford of Columbus, Clay (Pat) Ford of Loveland, Colorado, Fairlane Ford of Riverton, Mark Ford of Riverton, Tracy (Melanie) Ford of Oregon, Rocky Ford of Riverton, Bonnie (Jay) Crawford of Riverton, Leona (Phillip) Burton of Riverton, and Rosie (Stacy) Hill of Rock Springs, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul Ford of Kent, Indiana, and Bob (Nieta) Ford of Edinburgh; and a sister, Betty Sears of Edinburgh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Chester, Wayne, Richard, and Theodore Ford; sisters, Charlene Hartcort, Irene Williamson, Geneva Gayman, Mable Davis, Virginia Bailey, and Rosemary Williamson; a son, Gerald Ray Ford; and a great-granddaughter, Sasha Burton.
