Elementary basketball tryouts begin this week

BCSC elementary boys and girls basketball tryouts will be Monday through Thursday. Players should see their schools for times and other information.

Players must have a valid physical performed after April 1 to be eligible to try out.

Soccer program available to those with disabilities

Columbus East senior Andrew Thomasson is hosting TOPSoccer, a free, community-based training and team placement program for athletes with disabilities, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Oct. 28 at Richard Wigh Soccer Complex.

The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to players 8 and older who have a mental or physical disability.

Saturday Morning Sports Injury Clinic available

Southern Indiana Orthopedics is offering its Saturday Morning Sports Injury Clinic from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturdays.

East Wrestling Club set to open season

Columbus East Wrestling Club practices will begin the week of Oct. 19 in the East wrestling room for students in kindergarten through Grade 6. There will be a parent informational meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Room 104 of East High School.

Beginner group practices will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Advanced group practices will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The first week is free, and if wrestlers still are interested, signups will begin the second week.
