Harrison College has an app for enrollment

Harrison College has collaborated with Fishers-based mobile partner Bluebridge to create an app to assist with its college enrollment process.

The new app also gives the more than 3,000 students who attend Harrison greater access to the school’s resources for both iPhone and Android platforms.

The Harrison College App allows prospective students to complete the application process, order transcripts, take entrance and placement exams, receive class schedules, order textbooks and more.

For current students, the app provides 24/7 access to their Harrison email account, Harrison’s online learning management system, student support services, the library and more, keeping the most critical student success functions at their fingertips.

The app also features student success videos, push notifications and links to frequently asked questions.

Miller to participate in discussion on film

Aaron Miller, associate professor of history at Ivy Tech Community College Columbus, has been invited to participate in a panel discussion at a screening of “Gridiron Gladiators,” a documentary film about the history of concussions and serious injuries in football as well as the role of football in American society.

The screening is today at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. This event is hosted by Chris Borland, a former NFL player for the San Francisco 49ers. The panel also includes Sam Morris, a professor in kinesiology; Matt McMurray, a psychology professor; and Erik Jensen, a sports historian.

Miller has been asked to participate due to his background in sports history. His dissertation was about baseball during the 19th century, which is also the era when football became extremely popular.
