Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles officials decided to keep Hope License Branch open two days a week.

1990

Nearly 250 people took a break from rain and cold temperatures for a bowl of chili at the first Columbus Fire Department chili cookoff at The Commons. The department cooked 25 gallons of chili from five different recipes and sold it to patrons after a friendly judging, raising about $200 for the Cheer Fund.

1965

Specifications were approved for the first air-conditioned school in the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp., the new elementary school to be built at Fifth and Pearl streets.
