A Lights on Afterschool event is planned from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 22 at kidscommons, 309 Washington St.
The event is presented by the Out-of-School Coalition of Bartholomew County, in partnership with Foundation for Youth, Children Inc. and Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. i-CARE.
Families with children ages pre-K through sixth grade are invited to visit kidscommons free during the event.
Guests may explore the museum, try hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math stations, enjoy free pizza and fruit while quantities last and register for door prizes.
The free community event is made possible by a grant from the Community Education Coalition and Duke Energy.
Launched in October 2000, Lights on Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities.
