Mrs. Juanita M. Hoskins, 84, of Columbus, formerly of Salem, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Juanita was born February 16, 1931, in South Boston, Indiana, the daughter of William “Buck” Sparrow and Mary Elliott Hedrick. She was a former employee of Washington County License Branch and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and Red Hat Society. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed going to yard sales and auctions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Hoskins, on October 8, 1998; two brothers, Donald Mantooth and Randall Mantooth; a grandson, Chad Soliday; and her parents, William “Buck” Sparrow and Mary Hedrick.
She is survived by two sons, Lonnie K. Hoskins (Cynthia) of Floyds Knobs and Michael Hoskins (Brenda) of New Albany, a daughter, Gloria Soliday (Marvin) of Columbus; five grandchildren, Jeremy and Cody Soliday, Brian Hoskins, Abigail Hoskins Vincent, and Julia Hoskins; five great-grandchildren, Devin, Caleb and Kassidy Soliday, Emma Catherine Hoskins, and one on the way.
Funeral services and burial were private.
Arrangements were made by Weathers Funeral Home in Salem.
