Deputy
Carl Richard “Rich” Gammons, Sr., 81, of Deputy, died at 7:24 p.m., Monday, October 19, 2015, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.
Survivors include his wife of fifty five years, Ella Jean McClanahan Gammons of Deputy; three daughters, Lisa Jane Molhook of Phoenix, Arizona, Joan Elizabeth “Joanie” (Lee) Arrowood Spellman of Deputy, Ruth June “Ruthie” Martin Gammons of Deputy; his son, Carl Richard “Rick” Gammons, Jr. of Deputy; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and his brother, Walter (Lisa) Gammons of Lafayette, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Gammons; his brothers, Norman, Gerald and Perry Harmon Gammons; his sisters, Docia Wilson, Ramona Clement, Joan McCutchen and Ruth Gill.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison with Pastor Mike Shuler officiating. Visitation is from 4 – 8 p.m. Saturday and from 12 noon until time of service on Sunday at Morgan & Nay. Internment will be at Lick Branch Cemetery in Deputy.
The family requests memorials in memory of Carl to the Solid Rock Community Church or the Rich Gammons Memorial Fund, contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
